TONI AND BEN READY FOR CALIFORNIA CHALLENGE
Laguna Seca, 21 July: The LCR Honda MotoGP team is two-strong for 2011, with former American Superbike champion and World Superbike winner Ben Bostrom making his MotoGP debut alongside Toni Elias this week end at the Californian race track which hosts the 10th round of the calendar before the summer break. Bostrom will be doing double duty on the weekend, going back and forth between his AMA machine and the LCR Honda MotoGP RC212V.
The MotoGP bikes require riding and set-up techniques meant to get heat into the rear tyre, which Elias has yet to fully master but the Spaniard finished sixth and seventh in his last two appearances at Laguna Seca.
Elias: “I love this track because it’s pure fun! Of course this is not the situation I was expecting but want to continue in working on the set-up of my bike with my mechanics, who deserve a big ´thank you´ for their great work from the beginning up to now. Then I hope Ben can enjoy his debut on a MotoGP bike”.
Bostrom: “I feel honoured to line up with these guys and can learn a lot from them . Once again I want to thank MJM, LCR and Suzuki America for this great opportunity. I feel excited to ride with this new "toy" ahead my fans. It’s an amazing experience!”
