20th season in MotoGP
The LCR Honda structure is preparing for the start of the 2015 MotoGP World Championship and a twentieth season in the most popular 2-wheel sport
with two of the most charismatic characters in the paddock.
Briton Cal Crutchlow arrives to ride a factory specification Honda RC213V bike and premier class rookie Jack Miller also joins the Team, preparing for his MotoGP debut on an Open spec RC213V-RS.
20 years in the World Championship and, for the first time, 2 riders in the premier class. What’s your feeling right now?
Lucio: "“It’s very exciting because in 2015 in our 20th season in the World Championship and our tenth season in the MotoGP category with Honda, we are proud to be able to line up two riders. We are all very excited but we also have our feet on the ground because MotoGP is so competitive”. ".
What’s your prediction about Cal and Jack performances in the forthcoming season?
Lucio: ““We hope Cal can get some podium results and to hopefully finish in the top five. I’m proud and happy to work with him this year. He is definitely a rider with a lot of drive and motivation. He has the right personality, to not be afraid to overtake Marc Marquez in races. I do believe that he needs a bit of time to adapt his riding style to the Honda. Every bike has its own characteristics. I think Cal will quickly understand the bike and after a few training sessions I believe that he will be able to show his skills on our bike.”
“We also hope Jack can fight to be the best Open rider. I have a clear feeling that he really, really loves what he is doing. He just can’t wait to get on his bike. He wants to be the first rider on track and the last rider to leave the track. That’s a good sign that he is really motivated, so that’s why he is always smiling and happy. Without any doubt he is a very talented rider. I’m convinced that even without Moto2 experience he will quickly pick up what is needed to ride fast in MotoGP. He has potentially a big, bright and long career ahead of him. So there is no point to push him into making mistakes.”
First rider and Team Manager at the same time, then full time Team Manager. And now a double commitment in the premier class. A life dedicated to this sport…
Lucio: “I am a lucky person because every morning when I wake up I feel anxious to go back to work because I like my job even if sometimes I should sleep a bit more. I could not do another job! I dedicate myself to this sport at 100% and I would like to take the CWM-LCR Honda Team on MotoGP podium as much as I can”. ”.
